100 years of Selfridges: 1909- 2009!

Selfridges is celebrating 100 years with an amazing exhibition which shows the history of how the business started and how the founded Harry Gordon Selfridges transformed the store into the second largest shop in the United Kingdom (after Harrods only).

For those who don’t know about Selfridges, it is one of the most famous luxury Department Stores situated in the heart of London at Oxford Street.

The innovative marketing of Harry Gordon Selfridges led to his success. It was one of the first stores to put merchandise on display so customers could examine and feel the product before buying it. Gordon Selfridges believed that the success of the company was to treat all customer in the same way with courtesy whether they buy or not, because they would be back soon. Excellent customer service is the key success of Selfridges till today....

Selfridges is also very famous for creating windows with creativity, innovation always getting the attention of the public on the street. They really know how to dress the windows to impress. I can’t not miss it at all….every month it doesn’t matter how busy I am, I always want to see what is next on the Selfridges’s windows!

So, yesterday I went to see the exhibition and loved it…I managed to take some pictures to share with you and also recorded 2 minutes of the film which they are showing to visitors.

Hope you enjoy!

LoVe,

Ma
