Sonakshi Sinha, the sinner?, Sonakshi gets in trouble over pic posted on Twitter

Here's the picture that got Sonakshi into big trouble

It was meant to be a joke to be taken in the right spirit. Or so Sonakshi Sinha thought.

Pakistani fans who follow her Twitter account, pulled her up when she uploaded a morphed photo of an Indian batsman hitting their captain Shahid Afridi with a bat.

Calling the picture 'De Ghumaake', she expected her followers to be amused. But no sooner did the photo go viral, there were a string of abuses from across-the-border fans asking for the picture to be removed.

Sinha later issued an apology stating, "Pak fans very upset. Jung ke maidan mein ladne se toh accha hi hai khel ke maidan mein ladein! I am all for 'love thy neighbour'. Be a sport, yaar".

Sonakshi not promoted by Salman Khan, Salman won't promote Sonakshi?

Salman Khan is known to give great support to those close to him... While he successfully launched Sonakshi Sinha, talks have it that Salman is now recommending Asin - his 'Namastey London' co-star, and Zarine Khan - his 'Veer' co-star, for projects.

We are told, "Salman has launched a few careers - be it Katrina Kaif, or Sonakshi Sinha. He somehow feels responsible for Asin and Zarine Khan as well. You see, the films in which these actresses starred opposite Salman didn't rock the box office. And Salman Khan thinks he owes them something. Besides, they are talented, too." So while he has set Katrina and Sonakshi on the right path, his focus now remains on getting Asin and Zarine on the track to success.

If talks are to be believed, Sallu suggested Asin's name for 'Housefull 2', and he has also given Zarine a part in 'Ready'. However, Sajid Khan, director of 'Housefull 2' denies that Asin's name was suggested by Salman.

Sonakshi not scared of Item songs, I'm not scared of item numbers: Sonakshi Sinha, Sonakshi ready to do Item numbers

Actress Sonakshi Sinha wants to prove that she is truly "Dabangg" when it comes to her professional career. Brushing aside the rumours that she wants to refrain from doing item numbers, the actress came out saying that she is not scared of doing them.

The 23-year-old, who has shown her dancing expertise on stage at various award shows earlier this year, revealed that she has no problems in joining the lines of Katrina Kaif, Malaika Arora Khan and Mallika Sherawat by doing an item number, but she has to be comfortable in doing so.

"I'm not scared of doing item numbers. For me, when I did stage shows, I was wearing what I was comfortable in and the moves that I was doing were also what I was comfortable doing. So all depends on comfort. If what is offered to me, I'm comfortable doing that, then I might just take it up. I'm not averse to it," Sonakshi told reporters here.

Sonakshi, the daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, has laid down various rules for herself. She has been maintaining that she won't be doing any kissing scenes in films and also won't sport a bikini on screen ever.

Yet the budding actress has been getting plump Bollywood offers. After her debut film "Dabangg" with Salman Khan, the actress will be seen in "Joker" with Akshay Kumar and is also a part of "Race 2".

At an event Tuesday, she was also named as the brand ambassador of fashion brand Provogue, that has had actors like Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Fardeen Khan and Katrina Kaif endorsing it in the past.

"I'm very happy to be associated with Provogue. I think they've seen how my career is shaping up and they think that I'm able to contribute to their brand in some way as a brand ambassador. So very happy about this association and hopefully it will be a long and fruitful one for both of us," said Sonakshi.

Sonakshi Sinha to play as Kamal Haasan's wife, Sonakshi as Kamal Haasan's wife, "So what if I play Kamal Haasan's wife?", Sonakshi to share screen with kamal haasan

She made her debut with the much older Salman Khan in 'Dabangg' and Sonakshi Sinha will soon be seen as the wife of Kamal Haasan, who is 33 years her senior, in Tamil-Telugu director Selvaraghavan's film. The young actress says that once an actor is in front of the camera, age should not matter.

"Yes, I'm playing Kamal Haasan's wife in Selvaraghavan's film. Why should that be a problem?" asked Sonakshi, who is just 23.

"Once you are in front of the camera, your age should not matter. I never felt like a child while working with Salman (who is 45) in 'Dabangg' and now with Akshay Kumar in 'Joker'. I will be respectful but an equal on the sets with Mr. Kamal Haasan," she added.
And no, Kamal Haasan and Sonakshi are not doing an Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore routine from 'Hannibal'.

"I don't know where the speculation started from. No, this film is a complete original. When I heard the script, I was blown away. I'd be very stupid to turn it down, just because the hero, a legend in his lifetime, is much older than me. Aren't we over these trivial matters?

"In real life, age makes no difference in a marriage. On screen too your biological age is of no consequence. I've been acknowledged for being different from my female colleagues. Let me enjoy this difference," she said.

As part of her preparation to feel maturer, Sonakshi has requested the entire crew of Shirish Kunder's 'Joker' in Chandigarh to stop treating her like the baby of the family.

"I'm not letting them treat me with kid's gloves. I've made it very clear that Akshay, Shirish, Farah Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Sanjay Mishra and the entire team are my friends. It's the only way to work," she said.

Sonakshi also intends to spend as much time as possible with Kamal Haasan to get comfortable in his company.

"It's Kamalji I would like to get to know. I need to establish a comfort level with him. Of course, there's a lot of initial nervousness. Naturally. Kamalji is legendary. Acting with him is difficult enough. But to play his wife, I need a lot more guts. But then I've a legend at home," said Sonakshi referring to her actor-politician father Shatrughan Sinha.

Her dad is helping her to get a hang of Tamil and Telugu.

"It is impossible for me to get a grip on Tamil and Telugu in such a short time. My father couldn't speak either language when he did 'Rakht Charitra'. He read out the lines from cue cards. But no one could make it out. He's teaching me how to read the words in Tamil and Telugu without looking like you're reading it," she said.

Sonakshi will also be watching Kamal Haasan's film 'Hey Ram' where the actor was married to Vasundhara Das, at least 25 years his junior, to see the on-screen chemistry between the legendary actor and a much younger co-star.

"But I'm not supposed to be the least ill-matched with him. It's a film that pushes the envelope. I want to do roles that take me ahead as an actor. I am not here to do routine stuff," she said.

Sonakshi is not even conflicted by the fall-out between her 'Dabangg' producer Arbaaz Khan and director Abhinav Kashyap. In fact, the buzz is, she's been finalised for Kashyap's next as well as 'Dabangg 2'.

"Both Arbaaz and Abhinav are dear friends. I'm glad Arbaaz is turning director. He'll make a terrific sequel to 'Dabangg'. As for Abhinav, I'd love to be part of anything he does next," she said

Sonakshi not bold as Bips, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonakshi Latest, Prabhu deva, Akshay Kumar, Dabangg

The one-film old Sonakshi Sinha has already walked her way into prestigious projects like Joker and Prabhu Devaa's next with Akshay Kumar, an untitled film with Kamal Haasan, Race-2 with Saif Ali Khan, Dabangg-2 and Kick with Salman Khan.

Salman's protégé does come with her share of will-dos and won't-dos. Being the daughter of BJP Minister and yesteryear superstar Shatrughan Sinha comes with its share of advantages; and responsibilities.

A trade source says, "She is already getting paid a bomb. We hear that her remuneration for Race-2 is almost a crore and she is getting paid twice that amount for the Kamal Haasan film.'' What's more, according to trade circles, Sonakshi has a stringent contract. "It stipulates 'no kissing, no explicit lovemaking and no bikini','' says our source.

Because of her lineage, the Dabangg girl is allowed to dictate terms to filmmakers. Though the born-with-a-chip-on-her-square-shoulders actress refuses to divulge anything, a source from the crew of Race-2 reveals that she has made it clear to director-duo Abbas-Mustan that she is okay with doing something as hot as Katrina, but she will not do the kind of bold scenes that Bipasha did in Race.

Quick Rewind:
Saif and Bipasha steamed it up in a barn scene in Race and the Bengali bombshell also seduced' Akshaye Khanna on screen with her bare-n-dare act. Whereas Kat played the sweet secretary who shed her inhibitions in just the song-dance routine.

Sonakshi Sinha Fem's new brand ambassador, Sonakshi Sinha as Brand Ambassador for Cosmetics, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonakshi

"Dabangg" actress Sonakshi Sinha has been appointed as the brand ambassador for cosmetic brand Fem Fairness Bleach. Fem is a product of Dabur India, which has recently acquired it.

"As a consumer, I have been associated with Dabur for years now. So, it gives me great pleasure to be associated with a large beauty brand with a stature of Fem and be the face for the brand," said Sonakshi.

This is not the first time the 23-year-old has endorsed a cosmetic brand. Earlier she replaced actress Katrina Kaif as brand ambassador for beauty soap brand Dyna.

Riding high on the success of "Dabangg", the actress is busy shooting for Shirish Kunder's "Joker" along with Akshay Kumar.

Sonakshi Has Her Eyes On Ranveer

The Dabangg girl seems to have the hots for Band Baaja Baraat munda, which was quite obvious on Koffee With Karan.

She couldn't stop gushing about the newbie, letting us know how she would love to date him if he was 'single'.

When KJo mentioned it to Ranveer's current girlfriend Anushka Sharma, who was with him in the hot seat the following week, she retorted, "He is all yours. Please go ahead."

What say, Ranveer?

Madhuri Dixit didn't want to play Rajnikanth's sister

Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit turned down a film opposite Tamil superstar Rajnikanth because she didn't want to play his sister.

"Would have loved to do a film with Rajnikanth, but the role was that of his sister... need to wait for the right role," Madhuri wrote on microblogging site Twitter.

Madhuri has previously worked with the 61-year-old star in "Uttar Dakshin" in 1987.

Priyanka goes gaga over Lady Gaga

Actress Priyanka Chopra seems to be completely smitten by American popstar Lady Gaga after she got an opportunity to attend her concert in New York.

"Hey guys. I'm in my most favourite city in the world. NYC baby! Went to the lady gaga concert at MSG (Madison Square Garden) last night," Priyanka wrote on microblogging site Twitter.

"She's so hugely talented, completely crazy and so unapologetic. That was awesome. She's also totally sweet which was nice to c. Go gaga! (Sic)" she added.

Sonakshi, Akshay play paintball

One-film-old Sonakshi Sinha seems to be having a gala time while shooting for Shirish Kunder's "Joker" in Chandigarh with co-star Akshay Kumar.

Recently, when the cast and crew had some free time on hand they decided to play paintball.

"When the cast and crew had some free time on hand they all decided to have some fun and so they went to play paintball," said a source.

"Before starting the game, Akshay was heard telling everyone that well all know whose daughter Sonakshi is and so to make sure no one troubles her or else they would get a lot of 'Khamosh'. Everyone had good laugh and both Sonakshi and Akshay made sure that the atmosphere was light and fun after a hard day at work," the source added.

Paintball is a sport in which players try to eliminate opponents by hitting them with capsules containing food colouring and gelatin (referred to as paintballs) propelled from a device called a paintball marker.

Haarsh Nagar debuts with SRK's 'Always Kabhi...'

Haarsh Nagar is making his big debut in a supporting role in "Always Kabhi Kabhi", which is being produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. The newcomer will also feature in a Coke ad and is very excited about it.

"Cricket to us was more than a sport, it was a worship and that's one reason I'm doing the TVC for Coke Pakistan for the Cricket World Cup in 2011," said Nagar.

The debutant also spills the bean on how cricketing fever gripped the cast and the crew of his film.

"The entire cast and crew were great cricket lovers including (director) Roshan Abbas. This energy not only motivated us but the entire crew of 'Always Kabhi Kabhi' and we started following it as a daily regime during our free time," he said.

"It was a pleasant sight to watch Roshan Abbas play a jovial cheerleader as compared to the thorough professional he portrayed while shooting. In fact, we were so excited with the whole cricketing concept that we requested him to make us all a part of Shah Rukh's IPL team (Kolkata Knight Riders)," he added.

Haarsh has previously played a lead role in director Arnaud Selignac's Hollywood movie "The Queen" opposite actress Mylene Jampanoi. It will be aired on HBO in Europe shortly.

Race 2 ready to take-off

Producer Ramesh Taurani and director duo Abbas-Mustan have finally locked the star cast of the much-awaited sequel to Race.

"The casting has to be perfect, once the script is okayed," Abbas-Mustan had said some time back. "The expectations from Race 2 are humungous and we plan to make it bigger and better than the first part."

Well, the casting of Race 2 is almost complete. While Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor have been retained from the first part, the makers have signed John Abraham to enact the negative role in the sequel to the successful film.

Rumours are rife that Abhishek Bachchan will also appear in a significant role, although his presence in the film is being kept under wraps.

"Not true at all! Abhishek isn't part of the film," the producer said.

'The leading ladies will be different as well. "Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha have been confirmed. We need to finalise one more leading lady opposite Anil," he said.

Filming of Race 2 will begin in August this year.

Sonakshi On A Weight Loss Spree For Race 2

For Race 2 Sonakshi Sinha's will have to rev up the feline quotient to the optimum as director duo Abbas-Mustan want to do away with her village bell image completely. So the actress is busy shedding extra pounds.

"First, I had to lose weight for my debut in Dabangg. Now I've to get into even better shape for Joker and Race 2.

For the last two years that's all I seem to be doing. Losing weight. But I am fine with that. Because it's important for me to look good," said Sonakshi.

After playing the demure village girl in in Dabangg, Sonakshi will get into a serious kickass mode for Race 2.

"Bipasha Basu was presented in a very striking avatar in Race. We've to make sure Sonakshi is presented in the same way for the sequel," says producer Ramesh Taurani.

But before Race 2, she also has Shirish Kunder's "Joker".

Sonakshi, who got no opportunity to display her dancing skills in Dabangg, was eagerly looking forward to her own slice of Farah Khan's sizzle in Joker.

To her dismay Farah and Shrish have informed her that her character gets no chance to dance in their film.

"I requested Farah to please, please make me dance in her husband's film. But my character doesn't have any dance-able opportunities. Sad. We'll have to wait for another occasion."

Perhaps Race 2 will provide her with a chance to sizzle in a song and a chance to do some serious action.

"Yes," Sonakshi says excitedly, "It's a very guns-and-gadgets subject. And I'm looking forward to doing some of my own dancing."
