Priyanka prepares Barfee, No Agneepath shoot, so Priyanka prepares for Barfee

Priyanka Chopra was supposed to start shooting with Hrithik Roshan for "Agneepath", but at the last moment her shooting was cancelled. Rather than let her unused time go waste, she immediately got hold of her "Barfee" director Anurag Basu and began preparation for her part of the mentally challenged girl in the film.

"Yes, Priyanka's shooting for 'Agneepath' got cancelled. But it was only because the shooting with the other actors that was going on from earlier went on longer than expected. Priyanka immediately got in touch with Anurag Basu and took the time to prepare for her part," said Priyanka's business manager.

Being produced by Karan Johar, "Agneepath" is the remake of director Mukul Anand's 1990 film, which had Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. Hrithik and Priyanka starrer is being directed by Karan Malhotra.
A source close to the actress said: "The last thing Priyanka's choc-a-block schedules can withstand are last-minute cancellations. Priyanka is very particular about her commitments and expects the same level of commitment from others. Any cancellation puts her off. And this was her first stint of 'Agneepath'. She was really looking forward to starting the shoot. But what to do? She took the cancellation in her stride."

But here's where Priyanka's enterprising spirit took over.

"Anurag was busy with other pre-production work. And tried to beg off. But Priyanka would hear none of it. She told Anurag this sudden space in her schedule was god-sent. She had not been able to prepare for 'Barfee' as much as she wanted to because of her tight schedules."

"Priyanka would hear none of Anurag's protestations. She just took over his time and insisted that they visit a couple of institutions for the mentally and physically challenged. She also got immersed in lengthy workshops and even convinced Ranbir Kapoor to join her. This week she and Anurag have been inseparable in giving authenticity to her character," said a source.

Like they say, one producer's loss is another filmmaker's gain.

Boom won't be re-released: Katrina, Katrina says, Boom won't be released

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has refuted reports that her debut film Boom will be re-released in a DVD with never seen before intimate scenes involving her and co-star Gulshan Grover.

"That is not true. It is false information. The rights of the DVD are with Hindujas and it remains with them. They are not distributing or re-distributing it," said Katrina.

Recently, a distributor claimed to be re-release Boom with never seen before explicit footage featuring her and Grover in UK, USA and the Gulf region saying that the movie did not get its due when it released as it was ahead of its time.

Speculations were rife that Katrina's lip-locking scenes with Grover were chopped off from the film's initial DVD as her beau Salman Khan had compelled the makers to do away with the kissing portion.

Besides Grover and Katrina, Boom featured Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Padma Lakshmi, Madhu Sapre and Zeenat Aman.

Directed by filmmaker Kaizad Gustad, the film sought to exhibit the glamour world's connection with the underworld. However, it failed miserably at the box-office.

With gossip mills abuzz that she would be part of Aditya Chopra's Dhoom 3 opposite actor Aamir Khan and Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, the 26-year-old actress said, "These are all rumours that go around and speculate. I have no idea about the film offers."

"I am working on Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Besides that there are no other films in hand," added Katrina, who is endorsing Lux's new variant 'Lux Fresh Splash'.

Silk Smitha is easier than Indira Gandhi: Vidya Balan, Vidya Balan says silk smitha is easier than Indira Gandhi

These days when ever we hear of Silk Smitha, next moment we confirm it with film 'Dirty Picture' of Vidya Balan. The name of south seductress Silk is enough to generate the feeling of lust. Apparently many feel that it would be challenging for Vidya Balan to portray the character. When you ask Vidya Balan on same question, she has something different in mind.

"Never the less film is an ode to the life of sexy siren Vijaya Lakshmi better known later as Silk Smitha and her journey to stardom followed by mysterious death. What I feel is, playing the character of Indira Gandhi is hard than Silk Smitha. People know the mannerisms of Indira Gandhi and we can't go wrong. Same applies even for Amitabh Bachchan while Silk Smitha is going to be my personal interpretation than impersonation," says Vidya Balan on taking the sex symbol of South cinema.

"It is not possible in this life, but in my next life I would like to become a journalist," said Bachchan, who is currently shooting for Prakash Jha's film, Aarakshan (reservations) in Bhopal.

When asked what he thought of reservations per se, the 68-year-old actor said he simply mouths the lines provided by the director, and didn't have any personal opinion on the issue.

Praising Bhopal, which happens to be his 'sasural' (in-laws' place), he said that people here were very nice and cooperative.

Director Jha said the film was an effort to show how reservations benefit the weaker sections of the society.

Big B used to be a gate crasher

He might be flying in private jets or executive class with a lot of attention, but there was time when Bollywood's megastar Amitabh Bachchan used to gatecrash at weddings or travel in trains without a ticket.

Big B is in Bhopal shooting for Aarakshan and it seems he is getting nostalgic about his college days.

'We were talking on set about college and university days and how in the hostel, when food was scarce or our pockets had run dry, we would find novel ways of feeding ourselves at times. Look for a wedding, borrow an ill-fitting suit from an affluent colleague and gatecrash the 'baraat' as guests and feed ourselves to our limits best, posing as 'men from the boy's side',' he posted on his blog Bigb.bigadda.com.

'They are the ones that get the most looked after!! They were mad days of our youth and when you look back on them you wonder how on earth did we ever pull those utterly stupid pranks and succeed,' he added.

The 68-year-old megastar, who studied at Allahabad's Jnana Prabodhini and Boys' High School (BHS) followed by Nainital's Sherwood College, before graduating from Delhi University's Kirori Mal College, remembered how he and his friends would board a train without tickets because they didn't have enough money.

'Like paying a visit to our Alma Mater, Sherwood College the very next year of passing out, spending Founder's Week there among colleagues and then finding ourselves out of money, not sufficient to buy back a train ticket to Delhi. So what do you do? You get on to the train from Kathgodam in any case, just as it's pulling out of the station so no one can stop you, cling on to the doors and spend the rest of the journey on the steps outside of the moving compartment until some kind-hearted ticket holder takes pity on your condition and pulls you in to share his berth with you,' he posted.
