James McAvoy: 'It's Love at First Sight' for Gnomeo

Juliet (Emily Blunt) falls right into Gnomeo’s (James McAvoy) arms in this brand-new shot from Gnomeo and Juliet.

“It was love at first sight,” James tells mharb about seeing the character of Gnomeo for the first time. “In my mind, I had this little geezer gnome with a long beard…if I had to pick out a gnome, that was who I would want to be.”

James added of working with Emily and his perfect Juliet, “She would’ve been my perfect Juliet if I had met her! (laughs) I didn’t meet her once during the whole recording process. We had before that doing press for something else on T4 but during this movie, we didn’t. We kept trying to make it happen and get it together, but ti didn’t end up happening.”

Emily and James DID meet up at the film’s premiere in Hollywood last weekend.
