Will Deepika annoy Dev again ?

Dev Anand won't take this lying down! Without saying anything directly to the evergreen actor, filmmaker Rohan Sippy is out to antagonise the Bollywood veteran, or so it seems.

News has just come in that the makers of Dum Maaro Dum have made their version of the famous song, picturised on Deepika Padukone. The line will read Not Your Daddy's Dum Maaro Dum." Rohan says, "We will be introducing the song as Not your Daddy's Dum Maaro Dum.

It is just in keeping with the brazen attitude of the song. And the fact that our DMD is meant for this generation. It may be better or worse than the original but it's for today."

Red ants on Deepika's back for Dum Maro Dum

Ever since Deepika Padukone was signed on for an item number for Rohan Sippy's film Dum Maaro Dum , she has been making news. Now that the song has been shot, industry insiders who have had a sneak peek of it claim it to be the item number of the year. Deepika Padukone is looking red hot in the song and we tell you why.

Deepika had some very tough scenes to do in the song. There was this one scene where she was required to have around 50-60 big, red ants crawling on her back. Though the scene was a very crucial one, director Rohan Sippy was not keen on having Deepika do the scene, as it would be a very risky one.

However, Deepika being the thorough professional that she is refused to use a body double, even though Rohan Sippy insisted on using one for the scene, as she felt that would not look authentic. She chose to do the scene herself.

"Deepika had to have the crawlies on her back for almost half a day, as the scene had to be shot from various angles. Many times Deepika would be bitten by the ants, but not once did she complain. In fact, when the shot was over, Deepika's back was completely red due to the ant bites", informs a unit-hand present at the closely guarded song shoot.

Deepika also worked very hard to look her sexiest best for the item number. She worked out rigorously and trained hard for the dance. The number which is one of the most awaited songs of the season will see Deepika in her sexiest avatar till date.

"She was going to wear the shortest skirt, ever to be worn by a Bollywood actress, however, when she started doing her dance movements, she realized that her movements became awkward due the short skirt, and since Dum Maaro Dum song has some great dance movements", adds the unit-hand.

"That's when Deepika called director Rohan Sippy, and requested him to change her outfit a bit, as otherwise she was not being able to do justice to the sensuous dance movements. Rohan immediately complied, and asked designer Anahita Adajania Shroff to change the outfit a bit. The short skirt was finally changed to hot shorts with tassels over it to give the look of a skirt. However the new outfit is no less sexy. In fact, the shorts are too short and barely cover Deepika's derriere!"

So smoking hot is Deepika looking in the song that she has become the first item girl ever to make it to the poster of a film, that too solo.

Bipasha in severe tiff with Deepika

Rohan Sippy’s ‘Dum Maro Dum’ is again hitting the news for all wrong reasons. Bipasha Basu is fighting it out with Deepika Padukone for the poster of the film which has only Deepika Padukone grooving to the super-hit song, ‘Dum Maro Dum’. Bips is not happy that the main stars of the movie were neglected and only Deepika was featured in the poster.

A source from the production house said, "There were various debates about how the first look poster of the film will be made.

Finally it was decided that rather than having Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu on the posters of the film it would be nice to have Deepika who features in the item song `Dum Maro Dum'.

When Bipasha learnt about the poster she was not very happy and called Rohan Sippy who explained his promotional strategy to her."

When contacted Rohan Sippy said, "Deepika is doing a title song of the film. On the teaser poster you can hardly recognise Deepika.

It's brand Dum Maaro Dum and Bipasha is the female lead of the film. But I guess that's what happens with guest numbers and with iconic songs."

On the other hand, Bipasha denied any dispute and said, "I was the first one to tweet about the first look of DMD because I loved it and am super excited about our film.

Deepika is a super dancer and has done total justice to our song. There are no controversies here."

Deepika Padukone's sensuous New Look Photo

Deepika Padukone is ready to take on Munni and Sheila. The lissome beauty's set with her hot item number in Rohan Sippy's film Dum Maaro Dum, presented by Fox Star Studios, releasing on April 22.

And this one promises to be very different from the earthy Munni and the tease of Sheila. It's going to be out and out irreverent, we are told.
For the first time, audiences will get a glimpse of her oomph. "Deepika transforms into a super sensual girl in the recreation of this iconic song," says a source. The song is closely guarded; it was shot with minimum crew around, apart from the dancers. There was a lot of planning that went into Deepika's look. Apparently, an even skimpier skirt was chosen for her initially, but the director and choreographer felt that it was restricting the dance movements.
Rohan Sippy is glad with the way the item song has shaped up. "Deepika is naturally very sexy, but she has never done anything this brazen. It is a very irreverent attitude that she needed to carry apart from being sexual on the screen. DMD is an attitude, it is all about breaking free. Breaking free from conventions, fears and taboos," he told TOI. Deepika may manage to steal a bit of Bollywood's biggest sex icon Zeenat Aman's thunder, as she steps into the remixed version of DMD!

Goa tourism raises concern over 'Dum Maro Dum' content

Two months before its release, Rohan Sippy's "Dum Maro Dum" has rattled Goa's tourism industry as initial reports about the Abhishek Bachchan-starrer suggest that the movie delves a lot into the state's narcotics mafia and sex trade.

Both the contentious issues have put Goa on the international map of infamy and with "Dum Maro Dum" only set to reinforce the same negative image, the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) is simply not happy. "The censor board should have cut out the objectionable parts, if it portrays the state in a bad light," Gaurish Dhond, president of the TTAG, told reporters here Friday.

Comprising of stakeholders of the travel and tourism industry in Goa, the TTAG for nearly three decades now has been the voice of the trade here. "The film could have bad repercussion for tourism in Goa, if it throws up scenes of prostitution and drugs," Dhond said.

Set in Goa, the film sees Abishek as a police officer and also stars Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu. The first look of the Fox Star-produced movie has all the nefarious ingredients, which has put the state under negative spotlight in the recent past.

In bold big-sized letters, 'Drugs', 'Cocaine', 'Sex' and 'Ecstasy' run through the racy promo, which also shows rave party scenes and sexy bikini-clad foreigners. "British (teenager) Scarlet Keeling's death case was hyped so much that people started feeling that our beaches are unsafe, which was not true at all in the first case. And now this," Dhond said.

Known for its beaches, Goa annually attracts 2.4 million tourists, nearly half a million of whom hail from European countries. Accusing the media and filmmakers of going overboard while portraying Goa as a sex destination, Dhond said the reputation of Goa is at stake.

"Goa has been built as a tourist destination over the years. You cannot allow some film to condemn it overnight. We have worked very hard for this brand. Why is Goa only being projected in a bad light? Drug abuse, rapes are being highlighted in a big way like this, which spoils the reputation of the state," he said.

"Dum Maro Dum" is set for an April 22 release.

Superintendent of Police Atmaram Deshpande said they have not written to the producers of the film seeking a pre-release screening. "We have not issued any letter to the producers of the film," said Deshpande, a spokesperson of the Goa police.

Deepika Padukone to sizzle for Dum Maro Dum

Deepika Padukone shoots for Dum Maro Dum remix video, she even flaunts off a new tattoo

Deepika Padukone will sizzle the screen for Rohan Sippy's Dum Maro Dum. She recently shot for a remix of the title track that has her flaunting a tattoo of a cobra on her torso.

The song has racy lyrics and is touted to be one of the biggest attractions of the film. Reveals a source, "The song is explosive and bold, with really unimaginable lyrics.

The theme of the track has several references to sex and drugs. Initially, Deepika was hesitant given the nature of the lyrics and the inherent innuendo.

But after some convincing and seeing the creative visuals for the song she decided to make sure it looked super hot. Part of the preparation included getting a tattoo with the words 'Dum Maro Dum' and the image of a King Cobra."

Pritam remixed the track, Bosco choreographed the number.

Lyrics of the song
Hey..kya phir dekh raha hai
Aaj aankhen sek raha hai kal haath sekega
Aaj dheel chod raha hai kal khud hi tokega
Aaj mere liye chair kheech raha hai kal meri skirt kheechega
Kheechega ki nahi ?
