53rd Annual Grammy Awards: Who Wore What? Jennifer Hudson in Versace Pre-Fall 2010

Jennifer Hudson in Versace Pre-Fall 2010, 53rd Annual Grammy Awards Red Carpet

Jennifer Hudson looking slim and sexy in a high-low navy-blue/silver Versace Pre-Fall 2010 dress. I'm wondering why the bust doesn't quite fit and why, oh why...is her bra showing. I don't think this is how it is supposed to be. Trust me darlings, ALL those Versace dresses and gowns have built-in bra and under-structures so you DO NOT have to wear additional bras that may distract from the dress. This is why a Versace dress can cost in the THOUSANDS...like $6000 most times. It also looks like they lengthened the front chiffon tiers of this asymmetrical dress for Jennifer. I like the dress, I just have issues with her bra showing. That's a no-no.

On a Positive Note: Jennifer does look TEENY TINY!!!

Do we mind that the top section doesn't fit "the sisters" and that her bra is showing?

Kennedy Center Honors Red Carpet: Oprah, Carol Channing, Diana Ross, Gwen Stefani and more...

Washington DC Red Carpet
She Loves a Crisp White Shirt: Oprah Winfrey and her beau Stedman Graham, walk the Kennedy Center Honors 2010 Red Carpet

Oprah Winfrey
, Paul McCartney, composer and lyricist Jerry Herman, dancer and choreographer Bill T. Jones and Country Music Musician Merle Haggard were all honored tonight at the 2010 Kennedy Center Honors, which will be broadcast at the end of this month on CBS.

Even though it's not Hollywood, there still were some Red Carpet Moments, both Good and Not-So-Good:

Cool Hip Quotient Award: Goes to Gwen Stefani. She look flawless in her Canary Yellow high-neck fitted dress with waist-cinching black mini belt. Love the up-do Miss Gwen.

The No Doubt members, however get a 5 for looking too-old to be "rocking" both eyeliner and the bleach-blond thang. The ONLY bleach-blond should be on Gwen!

Red King: Gayle King looked elegant in this lipstick red one-shoulder gown. The clutch is a little big but she still worked it--Go on Miss Gayle!

Jennifer Thin: Singer-Actress, Academy Award-Winner Jennifer Hudson looked fabulous in this black cocktail number. I almost did not recognize her. Is she a size 4 now? What the He**????

Who Is The Bigger DIVA?

Carol Channing was resplendent in a Holiday Red pant ensemble featuring a billowy exaggerated Leg-o-Mutton sleeved jacket/blouse. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE her! They do not make DIVAS like this any more unfortunately. She is Old-School Red Carpet GLAMOUUUUURRRRRR!!!! However, the biggest Diva of the night was...

Yes, Miss Diana Ross. PETA WHO??? Huney, Miss Ross ain't playing. When she does Red Carpet, She DOES Red Carpet. It's 110% or she is not showing up! Like the fully sequined silver gown and jacket weren't enough. It's cold outside, huney. So, therefore, she brought out the full-length mink! At-a-Gurl! She thinks it's 1984 and I LUV her for it!

Now, onto the Worst and Best Dressed Men: Kid Rock wins the Worst; hands-down with this get up. I like it when Diana Ross does FUR, but when Kid Rock does it, he looks like a Kansas City Hooker's PIMP! I like faux-fur vests on Rachel Zoe, but NOT...on Kid Rock!

The Best Male: Goes to "Glee" actor-and Details Magazine Six-Pack ab'ed Coverboy, Matthew Morrison. Handsome , Handsome and MORE Handsome.

Grammys' Diamond Glamour and Gaudy Misfires

The 2009 Grammy Awards brought us glittering diamond divas, gauche attempts at rock and roll glamour and gasp-worthy no-shows. Whitney Houston presented without slurring her words, Rhianna dropped out because boyfriend, Chris Brown, is in trouble with the law, and Paula Abdul showed up in a gown worthy of the lido deck on the Starship Enterprise – if it had a lido deck.

Just another day in the life of the music industry.

Lucky for us, musicians love to flaunt the ice, and the Los Angeles Staples Center was frozen over with it. Teen sensations and BFFs, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, looked all grown up in classic black. Taylor wore a floor-length Kaufman Franco number with Lorraine Schwartz brown diamonds, and Miley matched her moxy with black Max Azaria and Mimi So diamond danglers. Keep it up, ladies.

Grammy winner and heart warmer, Jennifer Hudson, wore square diamond dangle earrings and a matching bracelet that worked much better than the Roland Mouret dress that said 'dinner napkin' more than dazzle. And fellow American Idol, Fantasia rocked the ice on every surface from designers, H. Stern and First Lady-favorite, Loree Rodkin.

Not to be outdone was Katy Perry in H. Stern six-stone princess-cut diamond drop earrings, a diamond Sofia bangle bracelet and an H. Stern floral diamond Right Hand. Keyshia Cole brought out the big guns with her Damiani diamond statement necklace, and the wattage winner has to be my new favorite singing obsession, Adele, in over 30 carats of Stephen Russell diamonds. Take that Amy Winehouse!

Metallics made their usual appearance on a sequined Gwenyth Paltrow in Versace and Chopard, Grammy-winner Carrie Underwood wearing Zuhair Murad and Jonathan Arndt diamond drops , Lee Ann Rhimes in Philosophy and Bleeding Love chanteuse, Leona Lewis in Rhandi Rahm.

But what is a Grammy red carpet without the shenanigans – a.k.a. “The Courtney Love” factor? You just never know what’s going to come at you when musicians on medication dress themselves. This year the big winner is rapper, M.I.A., who busted out with bad roots, a baby bump and a Manish Arora dress that defied explanation.

While the look might not be as shocking as the Lil’ Kim doily episode at the MTV Music Awards (or the Bjork Oscar swan), combine it with the aforementioned Paula Abdul disaster, throw in a dash of trash from Paris, and add the My Favorite Martian choice from Estelle - and we may have us a red carpet catastrophe worthy of a Courtney Love MySpace rant.

You gotta love the Grammys.

Diamonds for Dreamgirls!

Jennifer Hudson got one whopper of a birthday present this Friday when her boyfriend, David Otunga, proposed! According to People magazine, the Dreamgirl was given a platinum, five-carat diamond ring from Neil Lane to seal the deal.

Otunga is best known as “Punk” on the VH1 reality show “I Love New York 2”. The couple have been dating for about a year, both hail from the windy city of Chicago and, come to think of it, both are reality show rejects who have gone on to bigger and better. Bravo! Hudson's five carat rock doesn't rival fellow Dreamgirl, Beyonce's, eighteen-carat juggernaut, but why compete? They both have amazing careers and bright futures ahead.

Ms. Hudson’s self-titled album is due to drop on September 30th, and her new movie, The Secret Lives of Bees, will debut on October 17th. If the film is as good as the book (and I just saw the trailer this weekend - it's going to be), we might be smelling Oscar for Hudson yet again. Is it OK to get nauseous now? American Idol rejection must seem like a world away.

Our congrats to the happy couple!
