Justin Bieber: 2011 Grammy Award Rehearsals!

Justin Bieber rocks out with buddy Jaden Smith during rehearsals for the 2011 Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon (February 12).

The duo are set to perform tomorrow night with Justin’s mentor, Usher. It’s going to be a “dynamic, energetic performance.”

Justin also stopped by the MusiCares signing booth this afternoon.

The 2011 Grammy Awards air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 13th @ 8PM ET on CBS.

Well Jean Paul Gaultier's PR team was working OVERTIME! They nabbed not just one big star on the 2011 Grammy Awards Red Carpet (Nicole Kidman, see posting below)--but TWO--with Rihanna! Both gowns from the same Haute Couture Spring 2011 "Punk Can Can" Collection. Rihanna just loves the whole intermittent transparency thing on dresses. And this gown has it. Placed between the transparent panels are also gradating layers of tulle gathered ruffles. It's a bit of a mess for me. I'm just not sure if it works. It just looks like someone might have taken the Christmas Tree garlands and used them to make a dress. But...her hair and make up look GORGEOUS!!! Just like Nicole, she was wise to go a softer more delicately pretty route.

Nicole Kidman walked the 2011 Grammy Awards Red Carpet--hubby Keith Urban in tow--wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring 2011 strapless tulle and embroidered applique gown. This gown was from Gaultier's just-debuted Couture Collection which was inspired by "Punk Can Can". It's Gaultier, he's allowed to be "inspired" by ANYTHING, kids! But the funny thing is: I get it on the runway (it's a $50,000+ Couture Hand-made Gown after all!!) but somehow on Nicole Kidman, on the Red Carpet--and next to Keith--she looks a little "Country Music Singer Performing at the Grand Ole Opry". Her hair looks GORGEOUS though; soft and very pretty, love the color. I also liked her softened make-up as well.

Willow I think you are THE CUTEST!!! But darling you cannot--and are not--the "Mini-Me Godchild" of Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj. Someone needs a Red Carpet Style Intervention. I'm not saying she needs to be wearing outfits from Gymboree or Hot Topic or whatever girls her age (ten!!) are wearing these days. But...looking like the cover of a Halloween Costume from a Bag...surely cannot be good. If my niece ever wore this, Uncle Nick might need to have a serious discussion with her!

Ciara wore a VERY revealing printed chiffon gown from Emilio Pucci Spring 2011 by designer Peter Dundas. Yes, it's the Grammys and you can take your Red Carpet Style to a whole other level--but that doesn't mean you take it to the "Miss Trinidad & Tobago/Miss Universe Evening Gown Competition" level! It's A LOT of gown! From the extra long train to the slit (both of which were not in the original runway sample as seen above). I'm also not sure if she needed to then add those black "gladiator" pumps. But then again, if you've gone THAT far (with that dress) then why not?

Is it a "Yes" on Ciara's Look? Or "Not So Much"? Let me know...

2011 Grammy Awards Jewelry Roundup: It's All In the Wrist

While the whole "Lady Gaga arriving in a big egg" stunt felt a little (um) tired to me, the jewelry fashion was refreshingly fun at the 2011 Grammy Awards, with huge earrings, creative cuffs, statement rings, yellow gold and menfolk in layered looks ruling the night in the trend department.

Here are a few highlights to get the jewelry juices flowing...

I FINALLY had a 2011 lower-jaw-drop moment when I spotted this crazy cuff on Glee diva, Lea Michele. It's by red carpet staple, Lorraine Schwartz, who is also responsible for my second favorite look of the night:

I also have to applaud Miley Cyrus and Ciara for the winning the "More Is More" award. Maybe it's because I've been so starved for over-the-top jewelry looks this year, but I was happy to see this much sparkle on these young stars.

Big earring looks dusted the sparkling shoulders of everyone from Cyndi Lauper to Snooki:

And as for the fellas? The usual suspects disappointed (Lil Wayne, Diddy) but Seal, Lenny Kravitz and Adam Lambert all rocked the layered necklace look that won the approval of the Twitter Crew (click here to review our fun-filled chat).

With so many folks getting in touch with their inner wacky (Gwenyth? What are you smoking, sister?) I'm sure the Oscars are going to feel like a quaint evening sipping tea by comparison. But I'm ready. Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is a jewelry wasteland so far.... And I'm starving for more!

Oh Lady Gaga...Only Miss Gaga would make such an entrance. Her entrance at the 2011 Grammy awards came via an Egg--and an entourage who carried her, in that aforementioned egg. I don't really understand why her Male "Egg-Carrying" boys are dressed like Go-Go Dancers from a really off-the-beaten path Gay Bar--gold Lycra shorts and Combat Boots from an Army Supply Store (?). And the woman above with her clear Lucite Heel Stripper Platforms ain't helpin', if you know what I mean. With that Style Hapless crew of an entourage, I sure hope what's in the egg looks AMAZING! Ahead of this Egg-Carrying entourage were photographer Terry Richardson snapping away as well as her stylist, Mugler Designer Nicola Formichetti.

Here's what she wore Onstage:

Onstage, Lady gaga, ended up in an pointy-shouldered stretch cropped top and skirt similar to her "egg-Carrying" entourage. Her make-up and hair were very reminiscent of Dale Bozzio of the 80's band Missing Persons (kiddies look her up 'cause Lady Gaga is!)

And to receive her Grammy Awards for Best Pop Vocal Album, she donned this black ensemble:

You just knew Miss Nicki Minaj was NOT showing up to the 2011 Grammy Awards in SAFE head-to-tow sequined gown...instead, she showed up in an Cheetah animal print "bubble dress", with matching leggings, boots, and "Cotton Candy"-looking hair so big I feel bad for whoever will be seating behind her...they AIN'T going to see a THANG!

From the Runway: Givenchy Haute Couture Fall 2007

The ensemble is from Givenchy Haute Couture Fall 2007 by Designer Riccardo Tisci. Yes, this look is almost four years old--but PLEASE DO NOT call it "Vintage" or I will CUT YOU!!!! I'm sure her stylist went deep--well only four years deep--into the Givenchy Haute Couture Archives--or Style.com Photo Look Boot Site and realized that Cheetah print was SCREAMING "Nicki! Order Me!!!" Also, I'm sure no one ordered it back in the day...so it just sat there lonely and looking for someone as Style Loca as Nicki to come rescue her from Archive Oblivion.

Do we like? Or is she an animal we wanna put back in her cage?

And more important, do we wanna grab a bite from her Cotton Candy-looking hair?

Grammy Jewelry Predictions: 2011

Jewelry hounds? We're entering high season for bauble gawking - with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week well under way, The Grammy Awards airing this Sunday and the Oscars right around the corner on February 27th.

Big, deep, breath....

But don't you fret! I'm doing a ton of eye calisthenics, so I can spot all the hot red carpet jewelry looks for your drooling pleasure. It's a rough job, but, well....

In the meantime, here are a few of my Grammy jewelry predictions for 2011. Will I be as right as I was for the Golden Globes (yeah, I said it!)? Will Lady Gaga bring it or bore us? Will Barbara Streisand ditch the mumu for Miu Miu? You be the judge.

1. Black Diamond Blow Out:

Rock-and-rollers bring out the black like tweens at a Twilight convention. With Christina Aguilera set to perform, I'm gonna bet she puts on some of her favorite Stephen Webster black diamond sparklers - with the rest of the world going with Loree Rodkin rocks.

2. Creative Cuffs:

This is the "softball over home plate" prediction, I know. But instead of a classic diamond cuff like we've seen on Golden Globe and SAG red carpets, I'm guessing the Grammy set is going to spike things up a bit.


3. Boy Bling:

We've got some serious Ice Kings walking the carpet this year, with Jay-Z, Usher, Adam Lambert and (of course) Justin Bieber lighting the way. But the question of the night is: Will Kanye West make an appearance? I've got to get a closer look at those crazy diamond dentures.

4. Lady Gaga Gets Serious:

Remember when Madonna entered her Evita period? She pulled back the hair, took off the Gauliter cone bras, put on the pants suits... I'm thinking Lady Gaga is going to follow in her footsteps (because I'm the first person who's ever had THAT idea).

Gone are the Armani satellite dresses and McQueen reptile shoes. Meat dresses are so 2010. My money is on a Lady Gaga who is channeling her inner Chanel. If I'm wrong, I'll chug an entire glass of champagne. Twist my arm.
